Spring is in the air which means that we come out of winter hibernation and straight into blossoming flowers, sweet aromas, starlit dinners and… ROMANCE.
So we thought while the birds, the bees and the educated fleas are busy – we would also get busy and prevent unwanted litters by sterilizing 1000 animals in September.
Our aim at Sandton SPCA is the prevention of cruelty to animals and one of the most impactful ways we can curb animal abuse is to ensure that animals are sterilised.
Overpopulation contributes gravely to abuse, neglect and the surrender of unwanted animals.
A female dog can produce 2 litters of 6 to 10 puppies per year. This means that one un-spayed female and her offspring can produce 67 000 dogs in 6 years.
WE WANT TO START WITH 1000 ANIMALS IN IMPOVERISHED AREAS – THAT MEANS, 67 000 000 UNPLANNED ANIMALS WILL NOT BE BORN IN THE NEXT 6 YEARS.
Please assist us with a donation towards this critical outreach initiative. The more donations we receive, the more animals we can sterilise. The more animals we sterilise the greater impact we as a society make on the welfare of animals.
